Country of origin: Philippines

From the sap of the Elemi trees native to the Philippines, its name was derived from an Arabic phrase meaning 'above and below'. Historically believed to bring spiritual benefits, Elemi's regarded with high value, and was used during rituals and burned as an incense. Elemi Essential Oil is also often used as an alternative to Frankincense in skincare products because of the similarities in their benefits.
